When I look at my gallery I sometimes wonder if people think..."Hey, this guy can't be in all these different places he must be pulling stock shots and calling them his own". I know that this happens because I posted a few images on line as "Public Domain" just for fun and within a day found someone "selling" them as his own "Fine Art"....some people!
Anyway the reason for the wide selection of subject mater is this....
For several lucky years I enjoyed a job that had me traveling around the country. I spent a lot of time in Florida, Texas, Arizona, etc... along with that job, I managed to build up a lot of hotel points and airline miles. My wife and I took advantage of those "Perks" and did a lot of traveling for several years.
So, yes, there were stretches where I would be in Ft. Lauderdale one week and San Antonio the next. Then we might take a trip to the Grand Canyon or a cruise to the islands.... Those were great years brought to a screeching halt by the folks at Goldman-Sachs, Chase, Bank of America and other "Too Big To Fail" financial Institutions. Though we didn't get hit as hard as many, many other people, it did get me downsized . I was lucky to hang in and spend a year in Houston (giving me a chance to explore Texas and the Gulf Coast) taking a lot of pictures before returning to New Jersey.
Back in the Garden State, I spent a lot of time shooting along the coast and in the Pines of South Jersey and the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. Additionally I would just ride around finding things to shoot at flea markets, playgrounds, abandon buildings, etc...I also enjoyed working on Macro water drops on rainy days..Though I really haven't posted many of those.
Also, since becoming a deviant I have been posting a lot of older stuff in addition to the new.

So, they are all mine.. I also enjoy manipulating my own work in photoshop i.e.: Out of Bounds, etc..

Eclectic...

2 min read
If you look at my gallery you will no doubt notice that my style, so to speak, is a bit eclectic. Although I lean a great deal toward landscape/ seascape images - I also enjoy still life on a broad scale.
A bowl of fruit (the classic still life!) to a rusty sliding board. I believe that beauty can be found just about anyplace. In the same way a good comedian can find the funny side of everyday life. I think an "artist", photographer, painter, cartoonist or illustrator - all can find the beauty in the mundane. The way an "artist" sees things is the way a song writer "hears" a tune in his or her head or a writer "imagines" a story.
The one area that I have mot done much with is portrait/ model photography.  I've done a little "Street" work at carnivals, fairs, boardwalks and other public venues. I would love to explore this area more if I could find a model that knew what they were doing... again a real/ true model, knows how to pose and present ... I think the combination of willing subject and creative artist eye is the key to "People Photography"

I have posted a few "manipulated" images. I feel as long as I am the photographer and I am using only my images, then if I want to combine them, what the heck.
"Sail Away" was a decent shot I took in Galveston Texas but I wanted to punch it up by inverting the sky and lowering the opacity a bit.
"Lighthouse" is a combination of 3 images..The Barnegat Light in NJ, fence and dune from NJ and the rocks from Galveston.

I do like to use Photoshop along with Topaz filters for various effect. You can always tell but I see nothing wrong with that.
